“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”
- Bhagavad Gita
Megan Adams is a yoga teacher, movement educator, and lifelong dancer with a 25-year background in classical ballet and 10 years of teaching. After years of training in a discipline rooted in precision and performance, her relationship to movement evolved toward something more compassionate, sustainable, and embodied. Today, her teaching centers on accessible, functional movement that prioritizes how the body feels and functions over how a pose looks.
Yoga can be a powerful space to reconnect with the body especially when experiences demand perfection or constant striving. What often begins as a tool for physical care can unfold into something far deeper : a return to self. Rooted in yoga philosophy and guided by the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, Megan’s approach honors the inward journey by softening ego, meeting conditioning with curiosity, and cultivating presence both on and off the mat.
Classes are offered with accessibility and community at the center, emphasizing mindful, functional movement, breath, and rest to support real bodies, real lives, and real nervous systems. Students are encouraged to move at their own pace, whether they are stepping onto the mat for the first time, returning after injury, or deepening an existing practice. The intention is to create a supportive, welcoming environment where all bodies feel seen and respected.
Megan teaches at The Studio Georgetown and Lexington Senior Center and is the founder of Bluegrass Serenity Yoga & Wellness, a community-centered initiative with ongoing offerings and developments. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown College, teaching KHS125A: Functional Movement & Yoga, and works with local athletes and teams to support mobility, recovery, and resilience.
Her designations include RYT-200 from The Studio Georgetown, RYT-300 and ongoing study toward C-IAYT (Yoga Therapy) through My Vinyasa Practice in Austin, TX, with anticipated completion in Spring 2027.
If you are exploring yoga as a way to feel more at home in your body, move with greater ease, or reconnect with yourself beyond performance and striving - welcome. You belong here.
