The Emerging Teacher
Become the teacher that knows how to meet the student.
You don't have to navigate your early teaching days alone.
Completing yoga teacher training is the beginning of your teaching journey, not the end of your education. The transition from student to teacher comes with questions that a training manual can't always directly answer: How do I build a thoughtful sequence? What do I do when a class doesn't go as planned? How can I adapt my teaching for different bodies, abilities, and needs? How do I develop confidence in my own voice while remaining grounded in the traditions and principles of yoga?
Teacher mentorship and coaching at Bluegrass Serenity offers a space to explore those questions, strengthen your skills, and grow into the teacher you're becoming.
Beyond the Pose: Developing a Discerning Teacher
What distinguishes a thoughtful yoga teacher isn't simply how many poses they know or how beautifully they can sequence a class. It's their ability to understand the purpose behind their choices, observe the people in front of them, adapt their approach, and recognize when they need additional knowledge or support.
My approach to mentorship focuses on developing the skills that allow you to teach with greater intention, accessibility, and confidence.
Rather than relying on memorized sequences or one-size-fits-all approaches, we'll explore how to think critically about your teaching, make informed decisions, and cultivate the curiosity necessary for continued growth.
The goal isn't to have an answer for every situation. It's to develop the discernment to ask better questions, make thoughtful choices, and meet each student with greater awareness.

Sequencing & Cueing With Intention
Strengthen your skills in class planning, transitions, verbal instruction, and the use of props. Learn to connect your teaching choices to the intention of the practice rather than simply moving from one pose to the next.
Yoga Philosophy in Practice

Confidence, Ethics & Professional Growth
Develop your teaching voice, navigate classroom challenges, establish appropriate boundaries, and recognize the limits of your scope of practice. Build the confidence to keep learning without feeling that you must know everything.
Who Is This For?
Mentorship is designed for:
Emerging teachers who have completed or are completing yoga teacher training and want support putting their education into practice.
New teachers who want to strengthen their foundational skills, develop confidence, and find their own teaching voice.
Experienced teachers who want to revisit the fundamentals, explore new perspectives, or deepen their understanding of movement, accessibility, and teaching methodology.
Teachers interested in working with diverse populations who want to build transferable skills, identify gaps in their knowledge, and pursue continued education with intention.
You don't need to have your teaching identity figured out. You simply need a willingness to learn, reflect, and grow.
My Approach
My philosophies are rooted in the original yogic texts, enhanced by TCM and influenced by evidence-based science. With more than 35 years of movement experience with significant background in classical ballet, advanced yoga education, and ongoing study in yoga therapy, I value the relationship between traditional yoga wisdom and modern science to promote overall well-being.
My approach emphasizes accessibility, autonomy, curiosity, and the understanding that effective teaching begins with the person in front of you.
Mentorship is collaborative rather than prescriptive. Together, we'll identify your questions, explore practical tools, and develop an approach that aligns with your experience, goals, and evolving teaching philosophy.
You Don't Have to Figure It Out Alone.
Becoming a thoughtful teacher is an ongoing practice. You deserve a space where you can ask questions, work through challenges, explore new ideas, and continue learning beyond your initial training.
Let's strengthen your skills, deepen your understanding, and support the next stage of your teaching journey.
