Y12SR
Y12SR stands for Yoga of 12-Step Recovery, a holistic model created by Nikki Myers to address addiction by integrating yoga and 12-step principles. It combines the somatic (body-based) approach of yoga with the cognitive aspects of the 12-step program to provide tools for managing trauma, regulating the nervous system, and promoting healing on physical, mental, and spiritual levels. Y12SR offers open community meetings, educational programs, and training, acting as a supportive adjunct to traditional addiction recovery practices.
How it Works
Combines Yoga and 12-Step Programs:
Y12SR integrates the philosophy and practices of yoga with the cognitive tools of the 12-step recovery model.
Addresses Trauma:
It recognizes that addiction is often linked to unresolved trauma and uses yoga's somatic practices to help heal the nervous system and manage triggers.
Focuses on Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Healing:
The approach aims to release issues at all levels, creating a sustainable foundation for recovery.
Provides Practical Tools:
Y12SR offers specific tools and techniques for relapse prevention and self-management of internal states.
Key Features
Open Meetings:
A network of open Y12SR meetings is available internationally for anyone affected by addiction.
Supportive Adjunct:
Y12SR is designed to be a supplement, not a replacement, for existing 12-step programs or other recovery practices.
Emphasis on Community:
Meetings foster a safe, open, and inclusive space for individuals to connect and support each other.
Neuroscience-Informed:
The model is informed by current research on neuroscience and trauma healing, helping to "connect the dots" between the mind, body, and spirit.

Karma Class - Yoga Nidra
Join me at The Studio in Georgetown, KY for a deeply restful Yoga Nidra practice designed to melt away the summer blues and guide you into a state of total relaxation and renewal. This class is part of my 300-hour teacher training, offered as a karma class—a gift to the community and an invitation to experience the power of rest. The class will be recorded and submitted for grading.
Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep, is a guided meditation that allows the body to deeply rest while the mind remains gently aware. Through breath, visualization, and body awareness, you’ll be led into a state of conscious relaxation that restores energy, clears mental fog, and soothes the nervous system.
Whether you’re feeling the weight of summer burnout or simply seeking stillness in the heat of the season, this class will help you pause, reset, and reconnect.
All are welcome. Bring a yoga mat, anything that helps you feel cozy and we’ll have the rest. Let yourself be held by stillness—because sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is rest.
Reserve your spot on the MindBody app.
